Even two-time ONE World Champion Anatoly Malykhin was impressed with Mansur Malachiev’s impressive promotional debut on ONE Fight Night 11 last weekend.
The still undefeated Dagestan justified the massive hype surrounding him, requiring less than a ride for ragdoll and submit Jeremy Miado to announce his entry into the stacked strawweight division.
An ecstatic Malykhin, who was present at the Lumpinee stadium to cheer on his fellow Russians, had nothing but praise for the 11-0 fighter shortly after the fight.
‘Sladkiy’ told ONE Championship in an exclusive interview:
“It was a magnificent fight! Once again it proved that wrestling in Dagestan carries a lot of weight and everyone should take it seriously. It was a great start with a victory, what do you want moreover?
After winning two titles in two divisions at Eagle FC, Malachiev was immediately put to the test against an in-form Miado.
‘The Jaguar’, after all, is a deadly striker, with his last four wins thanks to some incredible finishes.
The 32-year-old, however, put his relentless pressure on the Dagestani from the start, forcing the Filipino to defend for most of the fight.
In doing so, the Universal Fighters star was able to neutralize deadly strikes from Miado and do what he does best.
Malachiev landed a brutal knee on his downed foe and immediately clung to his exposed neck for a D’Arce choke finish.
The replay of Malachiev’s sensational debut is available free to Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Meanwhile, Malykhin will be looking to earn his own victory in his upcoming world heavyweight title unification war against passionate rival Arjan Bhullar at ONE Friday Fights 22 on June 23.
