Diablo 4’s worldwide release was quite successful, and fans of the franchise are having a great time exploring the open world of Sanctuary in the latest entry. While slaying the hordes of hell has never been so enjoyable for many, some community members aren’t entirely enjoying themselves when completing some of the game’s content.
This is due to a few performance issues that Diablo 4 dropped, one of the most annoying bugs being the “Entire party must be present and alive” error, which occurs right after defeating Astaroth.
Astaroth is one of the toughest enemies you’ll encounter in Act II, and when the bug occurs, you won’t be able to continue with the narrative and will be stuck there.
Restarting the game will cause you to fight Astaroth again, making this bug extremely annoying. That said, you can try a simple trick to deal with the “whole group must be present and alive”. error in Diablo 4.
Fixed Astaroth bug “Entire party must be present and alive” in Diablo 4
To be able to deal with the “Entire party must be present and alive” error in Diablo 4, all you will need to do is teleport from the location to the nearest town and then teleport back to the level of the boss.
To do so, follow these steps:
- Open the Sanctuary map and select the nearest town whose waypoint you have activated. Then you need to channel fast travel to get there.
- Don’t leave the area once you’re in town, otherwise it will close the portal. Now interact with the teleport portal you used and return to the boss stage.
- This method seems to have worked for many in the community and is worth a shot when dealing with the “Entire party must be present and alive” error in Diablo 4.
- Alternatively, you can press the down button on the D-pad to quickly go directly to Kyovashad, then use the portal to return.
When does the “Entire party must be present and alive” error occur in Diablo 4?
The Astaroth fight may not be the only instance where the error occurs. While this is where most community members encounter the issue, the error can also appear during a boss fight or World Boss event.
This can happen if you completed the quest with a party or solo and even appear if each of your party members is alive or dead. Fortunately, the fixes for each instance will be fast travel in and out of the area.
This is a performance bug that Blizzard will hopefully fix. in future updates.
